Marcus and his company, DFW Fence Contractor, began a partnership with Sofia Marketing in October 2018 so we have been working together for 2+ years at the time of this study.  There were multiple challenges involved in this project but the main goal was to improve local SEO(Search Engine Optimization). This included improving local search engine rankings to increase traffic form Google organic searches. The main Goal here was to improve rankings for Geo specific search phrases other than “DFW”. Since his business name and domain both had “DFW fence contractor” included he was already ranking quite well for “DFW” related phrases. Our goal was to improve ranking for surrounding DFW suburbs and Fort Worth specifically.

  1. Local SEO. We began by discussing with Marcus and determining for which keywords he wanted to improve her Google organic exposure. After determining the keywords “Fort Worth fence installation”, “fence staining DFW”, and “cedar fence Fort Worth” were important to him(along with many other Smaller GEO-specific terms), we optimized his website for these phrases making sure we didn’t interfere with his current rankings for “DFW fence contractor” . We then continued to add content to the website related to these phrases while also building backlinks across the web to Marcus’s website. We optimized His Google My Business(map listing) profile and began regular posting there. Along with optimization of GMB profile we ran multiple review request campaigns. We also built identical business listings across the web to re-enforce his business’s legitimacy and authority from Google’s perspective. This will help improve his map rankings.
  1. Local SEO. Of course 2020 was, without question, a tough year for almost everyone that owned a brick and mortar business. But despite COVID, Marcus’s website actually received a 35% increase in website visitors from Google organic search in 2020 compared to the previous year.(See example 1) Much of this increase was due to improved rankings on terms such as “Fort Worth fence installation” from #8 to #1, “fence staining DFW” from #10 to #2,  “cedar fence fort worth” from #14 to #2 along with ranking increases on many other terms as well.(See example 2) We were able to increase Marcus’s local map presence with our Google My Business optimization and active posting while also doubling his reviews with our review reputation management.(See example 3)
